Principles Of Biblical Hermeneutics, J Hartill -Great book covering the rules of Bible interpretation.
The Book of Revelation, C Larkin - Commentary on the Revelation.
Rightly Dividing the Word, C Larkin - Good for basics of dispensationalism, and Bible interpretation.
Companion Bible This is probably the best 'study' Bible in print. It has the best outlines, and great notes. E. Bullinger was a Hyper - dispensationalist, therefore I don't recommend this for novice christians.
Scofield Reference Bible, C.I Scofield - The standard reference Bible for Dispensational Literalists.
The Joy Of Preaching, Phillips Brooks - The best book on preaching. Not technique as much as heart. You'll need to be able to read at a college level to really enjoy this book (hard to read).
God Tells the Man Who Cares, A. W. Tozer - A. W. Tozer is my favorite devotional writer. The title to this book fits the content perfectly, if you care - read this one.
The Knowledge of the Holy, A.W. Tozer - I have listed 4 Tozer books here. I read these like a man who was in the middle of the desert and hadn't had a drink of water for days would drink down at a well.
Pursuit Of God, A.W. Tozer - I don't know If I have a favorite Tozer work, but if I did this may be the one.
Root Of The Righteous, A.W. Tozer - If you want great revival in your heart this book should spark the flames.
Foxes Book of Martyrs, Edited by Forbush - To me this is a devotional work. How could a blood bought Christian read this book and not be changed I don't know. It is a must have.
Leadership and the One Minute Manager, Kenneth Blanchard - This is a great book about leadership. Anyone can benefit from it. Any leader who has not read it is cheating his workers, and his boss.
For Play, try these:
1999 The Arrl Handbook for Radio Amateurs (76th Ed), ARRL - Yep, I'm a HAM, and this is the first book to get after you get your license.
The Grasshopper Trap, Pat McManis - I've got a slightly dry sense of humor, Pat has written for Field and Stream for years, he puts a funny twist on the everyday sportsman's life. - humor at its best.
The Snow Goose, Paul Gallico - Kinda sentimental, but it is OK once in a while. I like Paul's style, he is a good writer. This book is about a an old man, a young girl, a goose, and a war. Good book. Paul Wrote all of the Thommisina, and Mrs Arris, series.
Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons, Bill Watterson I heard that if you don't like Calvin and Hobbes, in addition to fried okra you aren't saved. I think that that is probable true. All Calvin and Hobbes is good.
Its a Magical World, Bill Watterson - More adventures of my favorite pair.
Louis La'Mour gift set Classic Western, Louis La'Mour - This is better than movies. It is a set of tapes, with sound effects and drama. Louis probably has more of his books made into western movies than any other writer. I like to listen to these while working around the house.
WARNING - I think it was unneccessary (of course) sometimes the language is bad.
West of Dodge, Louis La'Mour - Louis La'Mour is like potato chips, can't eat just one - don't believe me just try!
WARNING - I think it was unneccessary (of course) sometimes the language is bad.
Where Buzzards Fly, Louis La'Mour - Chick Bowdrie is a Texas ranger, and this is another good one. I enjoyed all the Chick Bowdrie stories.
WARNING - I think it was unneccessary (of course) sometimes the language is bad
Grubline Rider, Louis La'Mour - This is a story about a drifting cowboy who gets riled up by a few tough guys and settles down for good. Only problem is that he settles right in the spot the tough guys are looking to claim. High action, a little romance - Louis is light on the love story line. Losta bullets flying!!!
WARNING - I think it was unneccessary (of course) sometimes the language is bad
